Ms. Dawn McCall, Coordinator of the US Department of State's Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) recently visited ALHOSN University, American Corner. During her visit to the university, Ms. McCall met with a number of school officials, staff and students and discussed a host of issues related to the education sector, including the place of the American curriculum in higher education in the UAE, education and privatisation, and recent trends in education, employment and the labour market. She was accompanied by John D'Amicantonio, Information Resource Officer at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

"We are happy to receive Ms. McCall at our American Corner and show her how this facility has become a resourceful centre for US history, culture, policy and business for our students and for the people of Abu Dhabi. Although she could only stay with us for a short while, we had an interesting exchange of ideas on how the American Corner at ALHOSN can be a catalyst to strengthening bonds with our American friends and we look forward to hosting more events at the Corner," said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University.

Ms. Dawn McCall oversees the development and implementation of IIPs programs and services that advance US foreign policy goals and national interests. The American Corner at ALHOSN University is the first facility of its kind in Abu Dhabi and only the third in the UAE. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
