Sheikh Khalifa issues two decrees reconstituting Executive Council of Abu Dhabi

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, two decrees restructuring the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been reappointed Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, under the first decree, while the second decree is about restructuring of the council.

The decrees were issued in line with Law No. 1 for 1974, which stipulates that the Abu Dhabi government body shall be restructured once every two years.

According to the decrees, the Council will be chaired by H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Vice-Chairman. Also members of the council will include H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan , Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), Mohammad Ahmed Al Bawardi, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Electricity and Water Authority and Deputy Secretary-General of the Executive Council.

The members also include Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Finance, Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Head of the Department of Economic Development, Abdulla Rashid Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Department of Transport and His Excellency, Major General Obeid Al Hairi Al Ketbi Deputy Commander General of Abu Dhabi Police and Dr Moghair Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council and Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Municipal Affairs Department.

The decrees shall be effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the official gazette. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
