H.H. The award was launched upon directives from H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The annual award encourages innovations which aim to develop the traditional sport. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of camel races at Al Wathba racecourse.

Among those honoured with the new award are the late Mohammed Mansour Al Saif Al-Khayarin and Salim Yadah Al Mansouri.

Sheikh Sultan presented Salim Yadah Al Mansouri with an Dh2 million cheque in recognition of developing the robot camel jockey at camel races.

Camel owners racing professionals expressed gratitude to the H.H Sheikh Mansour for his generous initiatives.

Al Mansouri described the honour as an incentive for the youth to invent and to be creative to develop the sport. He said his invention was dedicated as an expression of gratitude for the UAE and as a token of its people's love for the sport of the forefathers. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
