etisalat debuts Collect Call service in the UAE
posted on 08/02/2010

etisalat customers and telephone users in the UAE can now enjoy etisalat's newly introduced and innovative 'Collect Call' service, conveniently designed to make it easier for customers to connect with friends and family with calls charged to the call receiver.
etisalat Collect Call service can be used when it is simply preferable for the receiver to pay for the call.
The Collect Call Service has been designed so that callers can make direct voice contact with etisalat customers anywhere in UAE when they need it most, without being charged for the call. All etisalat customers are automatically enabled to utilise this service without any extra charge, subscription process or fee and facilitates any mobile device to use this service.
etisalat Collect Call allows users to call only mobile phones within the etisalat network across the country. Customers can call from any telephone within the etisalat network, be it mobile devices, fixed lines or payphones. The recipient then receives a voice message asking them if they are willing to accept the call, upon which they will be charged the normal tariff on call acceptance. Customers using the service also enjoy additional features that help them manage the service with more menu options.
To call any etisalat mobile phone through Collect Call, customers calling from their mobile phones have to simply call *132*05xxxxxxxx#, followed by 'call' key on their phones. Fixed line, mobile and pay phone users availing of the collect call service, can do so by dialling 132 and following the recorded voice instructions.
etisalat's Collect Call helps etisalat customers to stay connected with their families at any time without the worry of recharging, or in case they run out of talk time or need to call from a '0' blocked fixed phone.
To enhance privacy and selectivity in receiving calls, etisalat has developed advanced features for users to manage and control the service by customising it to their needs. This includes the following: - 'White list' option for customers to receive incoming collect calls from selected callers, automatically.
- 'Black list' option for mobile numbers that are not allowed to call them using the collect call facility and those calls will be rejected automatically.
- A third option is the convenience to 'black list' all numbers except the ones on the 'white list'.
Customers can manage these options by calling 132 or dialling *132# or by simply visiting http://www.etisalat.ae/collectcall to follow directions and avail of the service. "The flexibility and choice of adding or deleting numbers from the white and black lists makes etisalat's Collect Call service flexible because situations may demand such actions, and that is another advantage the service offers its users," he added.
Users can make unlimited use of the collect call service. However, for a collect call rejected more than three times from a particular recipient, the caller's collect call service will be suspended for 24 hrs for that recipient only, while he can continue to make normal calls to that recipient or a collect call to any other Etisalat mobile customer. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
