London - Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended Sunday the European Open Endurance Championship for ladies. The colourful sport event was also watched by H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, H.H.  VP leads UAE to win British endurance championship

Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, led the UAE riders to win the first European Endurance Championship - 120km, held Friday at Houston Park district in Britain.
Led by Sheikh Mohammed, the UAE team included Sheikh Rashid Dalmuk bin Jumaa Al Maktoum and Abdullah bin Hazem. This victory follows the International Syrian Endurance Championship won last month by Sheikh Mohammed. The victory is a warm up for the World Endurance

 UAE riders dominate endurance race in Syria

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Nahyan finished first in the endurance race dominated by UAE riders in Syria's capital city Damascus. Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan maintained the lead throughout the race to cross the finishing line of the 120-kilometer race which was completed by 170 riders from the UAE and Syria. In a rare repeat show, Yousuf Ahmad Al Beloushi finished ahead of Spain's Maria Alvarez Ponton in the Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge 120-km endurance ride at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Dubai on Saturday. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, led a UAE sweep of the top three places in the H.H. The President of the United Arab Emirates Cup endurance ride yesterday. Riding Kaysand Farrazah, Sheikh Hamdan completed the gruelling 160km course in 6hrs 52mins 29 secs.

Cairo - At the halfway mark in the Pan Arab Games schedule, UAE athletes have claimed 21 medals and are on course to hit the target of 40-50 medals that was set prior to the event. At the Doha Asian Games in December last year, the UAE created history of sorts when four brothers together won the team gold at the endurance event. In the 2007 World Junior and Young Riders' Endurance Championship, it was another record of sorts when three pairs of brothers made the UAE proud with their gallant display.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Faisal Al Qasimi and his younger brother, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, have been highly consistent on the endurance circuit in a very short span of time.

Buenos Aires: Despite the absence of some of the leading European teams, the UAE will face a tough challenge in today's World Junior & Young Riders Endurance Championship from some of the rising endurance countries from the region.
Apart from hosts Argentina, who will try to take full advantage of home conditions, the main threat to UAE is likely to come from the riders from Uruguay and Brazil.

Young Sheikh Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan registered one of his biggest career wins when he outclassed a star-studded field to win the His Highness The President's Cup yesterday.
Riding 9-year-old ZT Faraventure, Sheikh Khalid completed the 160-km distance in a time of 6 hours 41 minutes and 33 seconds to emerge winner of the world's richest endurance ride.

 UAE to host world's richest ride

The 2007 edition of the His Highness The President's Cup Endurance ride, to be held at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba on Saturday, will enter the record books as the richest endurance ride in the history of the sport.
A whopping Dh1.2 million will be on offer for the annual FEI CEI 160-km three-star ride, which is being sponsored by the National Bank of Dubai, Hydra Properties and Al Awani Trading Enterprises.

Sheikh sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Emirates Heritage Club attended yesterday an endurance race, as part of the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Challenge Cup. The race, considered the longest in terms of distance and time, is being competed by prominent figures, including King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin of Malaysia, Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikha Midya bint Hasher Al Maktoum, in addition to national and foreign riders.

The UAE was celebrating last night after claiming double gold in the Asian Games. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was so "proud” after the triumph.
