The Federal National Council yesterday convened its 15th and last session of the second ordinary term of the 14th legislative chapter. Speaker of the Federal National Council Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair met yesterday Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Nechervan Idris Barzani and the accompanying delegation who are currently visiting the UAE.
They discussed ways for bolstering bilateral relations between UAE and Iraq in parliamentary, economic and investment avenues.

The United Arab Emirates slammed Iran on Tuesday for terming as a "misunderstanding" their row over three Gulf islands, saying the islands were under Iranian occupation and were no less precious than Arab lands occupied by Israel. "It seems the Iranian side does not want to understand. The 13th session of the Federal National Council (FNC) asserted the need to implement reciprocal immigration procedures for UAE nationals in foreign countries that are offered visa privileges for their citizens in the UAE.

The Federal National Council (FNC), the country's parliament, has started to receive public opinion on federal draft law 2008 which recommends amendments to a number of articles to Federal Law No. 3 (Year 1983) concerning federal judicial powers.  FNC debates six-year stay rule for workers

Labourers, domestic servants, and those working in farming or herding should not be allowed to reside in the country for more than six years at a time, according to a recommendation of the Federal National Council (FNC).
