H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated yesterday the second phase of the Meliha road which was named the Islamic Institute Road on his directive.
Along with project for upgrading the Al Wahda Street, the two projects cost about Dh 1.2 billion and are two of the mega projects the Sharjah Public Works Department has undertaken as part of the emirate's plans to improve its basic infrastructure and services.

Eighty-eight percent of Al Salam Street Contract-3 completed Posted on 15/08/2010
The management of Al Salam Street Project confirmed that Contract 3, which stretches from Al Salam Street-Al Saada Street intersection up to Al Salam Street-Hazza Bin Zayed Street intersection, has reached an impressive 88 per cent completion.
Construction works for surface roads and utilities network in this area are in full swing, with the aim of facilitating traffic movement along Al Salam Street and the Eastern Ring Road.

Abu Dhabi Municipality opens new phases of Al Mafraq Bridge Posted on 03/08/2010
The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced that it would soon open main sectors of Al Mafraq Bridge for traffic as part of a plan to open the remaining uncompleted sectors gradually to facilitate traffic movement for road users before the full completion of the project in October next.

The management of Al Salam Street Project confirmed the successful completion of Contract 4, which stretches from Al Salam - Street No. 19 junction up to Al Salam - Street No. 29 junction. Construction works included road widening and three lane opening at Al Salam Street and the Eastern Ring Road.

Tunnel on Salam Street to help ease traffic flow in capital Posted on 18/02/2010
Motorists can use the first tunnel on Salam Street from midnight tonight, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced during a media tour to the tunnel yesterday.
