Dubai e-Government gets Dh1.5bn in e-payments Posted on 04/02/2010
Dubai eGovernment has reported a significant increase in the adoption of electronic services in 2009 compared with the previous year.
About Dh1.5 billion was collected from 1.4 million transactions that were processed in 2009 using Dubai eGovernment's electronic payment gateway, a secure platform for online payments. This represents an increase of Dh500 million over the previous year in which Dubai eGovernment collected Dh1bn from a million transactions.

Abu Dhabi to double online revenues by end of the year Posted on 25/05/2009
Abu Dhabi is looking at doubling its online revenues to more than Dh40 million by the end of this year as the UAE capital embarks on a more aggressive marketing campaign, a senior government official said.
The Abu Dhabi Government aims that 35 per cent of its commercial transactions would be made via online by 2012. Currently, only nine per cent of the transactions are done via e-services.

H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, law no 7 of 2009 establishing the Dubai e-government.
The new entity will devise the general strategy of the e-government, provide leadership, guide and supervision of the migration process into the e-module at governmental levels, and design framework, policies and benchmarks for IT management and security.

Dubai's integrated electronic payment system (ePay) has collected Dh602 million so far this year and is expected to record revenues of Dh1bn by the end of 2008.

UAE ranks 32nd in UNDESA e-government readiness index Posted on 24/02/2008
The UAE was ranked 32nd in e-government readiness index among the 192 member states in the fourth-edition of the eGovernment survey conducted by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). The country, which came 42nd in 2005, has outperformed other Gulf countries. The report ranks Bahrain 42nd, followed by Qatar at 53, Kuwait at 57, Saudi Arabia at 70 and Oman at 84.
