Canberra - The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Charity Foundation has held a mega Iftar banquet for 800 persons at the Canberra Islamic Centre as part of a month-long Iftar programme worldwide. RCA allocates additional Dh13.3 million for Ramadan projects abroad

The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has allocated additional Dh13.3 million to cover the Ramadan projects abroad, bringing the amounts allocated to those projects to over Dh13. 389 million from Dh8 million in the first third of Holy Ramadan Month. 800,000 Ramadan Iftar meals have been offered so far by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charitable Foundation. The total number of beneficiaries of the major charity's benevolent project this year is set to hit 1.6 million during Ramadan, an increase of 400,000 over last year. The UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has stepped up its efforts to improve the humanitarian conditions in the occupied Palestinian Territories (oPT). Ramadan food costs drop by 30%

Food prices during Ramadan have fallen by between 20 and 30 per cent compared with the holy month last year, the Ministry of Economy said.
