Liuzhou (China) - Team Abu Dhabi's Thani Al-Qamzi and Ahmed Al-Hameli head to the People's Republic of China this week to take part in the crucial 2011 UIM F1 H20 Grand Prix of China on the Liu River in Liuzhou on Sunday.

Arif al Zafeen and Nadir bin Hendi, the reigning world champions, laid down an early marker in the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship by posting the fastest time yesterday in the first official practice for the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi. The Victory Team crew set the pace and mastered the tricky conditions and gusting winds across the course in front of the Abu Dhabi Corniche to post a time of 2mins 58.26secs, the fastest of the afternoon.

 Rashed Al Tayer and John Tomlinson set to represent Team Abu Dhabi in Grand Prix

Rashed Al-Tayer and John Tomlinson will represent Team Abu Dhabi in this weekend's Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi, which will host the opening two rounds of the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The pair will line-up alongside nine rival boats for two races on Thursday and Friday and will be looking to build upon the form that both crewmen showed last season. Team Abu Dhabi runs the number five boat built by Victory and running with Victory V12 engines.

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced that all preparations have been completed and everything is in place to receive international teams participating in the year's top powerboating event - the final round of the U.I.M. F1H2O World Championship 2010, Grand Prix of Sharjah.

 Team Abu Dhabi win in Sweden Grand Prix

The UAE's Rashid Al Tayer and Italian throttleman Giovanni Carpitella clinched the first Class 1 win of their careers on Saturday as Team Abu Dhabi took the chequered flag in the opening race of an incident-packed Swedish Grand Prix in Uddevalla.
Starting their first race together, Al Tayer and Carpitella took the advantage after race favourites Fazza and pole position winners Welmax both crashed out in separate incidents that saw the race re-started twice.

 Poignant tribute to Victory Team heroes

The world watersports family joined the Dubai-based Victory Team in mourning the loss of Mohammad Bin Majid Al Muhairi and Jean-Marc Sanchez who died in an accident during Friday's 2009 UIM/WPPA Class One World Powerboat Championship.
Drivers and teams who participated in the event went out to sea to perform a solemn "honour lap" to pay their respects to the two Victory 1 pilots.

Officials of the UIM and World Professional Powerboating Association (WPPA) regret to announce the tragic deaths of pilots Mohammed Al Mehairi of the UAE and Jean-Marc Sanchez of France following a racing accident yesterday during race one of the Dubai Grand Prix, the final round of the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship.

Abu Dhabi has been accepted as the latest venue for the Class One World Powerboat Championship later this season.
Abu Dhabi was chosen to host the penultimate round of the 2009 event at a meeting of promoters from International Offshore Teams Association (IOTA) and local organisers from Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) earlier this week.

Sea Dubai has stepped in as one of the sponsors for the 2009 UIM WPPA Class One Offshore World Powerboat Championship that gets under way with the opening round in Doha next month.
