Washington, D.C. - Minister of Foreign Affairs HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed has called on the Emirati students learning at various universities in the United States to exert more efforts when learning and dedicate themselves to seeking knowledge. In a videotaped message screened at the Students' Meet organised by the UAE Embassy in Washington, Sheikh Abdullah said: "You are the young leaders in making. Eight teams representing the UAE were among the 65 winners at the final round of the 8th International World Robotics Olympiad (WRO), which concluded yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

The number of Emiratis going to university in Australia has gone up tenfold since 2002.
The reason for this is that institutions there are offering increasingly attractive alternatives to studying in the UAE or in the more traditional choices of the UK and US.

After undertaking cutting edge research with NASA's brightest minds during an internship, a group of five Emirati graduates have returned to the UAE better equipped to solve similar challenges in the country.

Emirati student briefs NASA on predicting earthquakes Posted on 22/12/2010
Shamma al Qassim presented her research with NASA to a room of 16,000 space scientists, demonstrating how thermal infrared imagery could be used to predict earthquakes up to a month before they happen.
