Lake Balaton in Hungary was the venue for the 2011 F18 Multi Hull World Championships, this year saw a new name on the block, "Sail Ras Al Khaimahâ€, a sailing initiative founded earlier this year at the Royal Yacht Club of Ras Al Khaimah in Al Hamra, by Alan Linnitt of Al Hamra Marina and Royal Yacht Club.

ADTA - IWC Schaffhausen set sail on landmark Abu Dhabi ocean racing partnership Posted on 28/06/2011
IWC Schaffhausen has signed up with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) to become the first major sponsor of its Volvo Ocean Race 2011/12 team, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing.
The landmark deal, marking the luxury Swiss brand's debut in top-tier global team sport sponsorship, will run throughout the entire Volvo Ocean Race 2011/12 campaign, which ends in Galway, Ireland in July 2012, after visiting nine stopovers, including the UAE capital on New Year's Day.

Adil Khalid and Butti Al Muhairi, the Emirati stars of Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, clinched their first competitive offshore racing victory in the San Fernando Race on Saturday.
The completion of the biennial 488 nautical mile TP52 sailing regatta from Hong Kong to the northern Philippines enabled the Emirati duo to top up their log-book as they up the tempo for training towards the 2011/12 international Volvo Ocean Race.
