Following an industry-wide slump in occupancy levels in the last quarter of 2009, some of the leading hotels in Dubai have reported a comeback during Dubai Shopping Festival that concludes on February 28.

The DSF Office has announced dates for the 2010 edition of Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises as it presents a preview of DSF 2010 to a global audience at the World Travel Market 2009, which begins on November 9, and goes on till November 12 in London. While DSF 2010 will begin on January 28 and go on till February 28, Dubai Summer Surprises 2010 will be held from June 17 to August 7.

 Dubai Shopping Festival ends

The 14th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), the region's biggest shopping extravaganza, closed on Sunday with a glittering ceremony at Dubai Festival City.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, awarded prizes and thanked sponsors, marking the end of the 32-day event.
In all, DSF offered Dh100 million worth of prizes and gifts, including Lexus cars, gold and cash.

 Curtains to come down on DSF today

After a month long of exciting potpourri of entertainment, discounts and offers, the DSF comes to a successful closing ceremony today.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place in the Four Seasons Golf Club, Dubai Festival Center at 7:30pm.

 Watani Family Camp hosts families for a fun day in the desert

H.H. Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, visited the Watani Family Camp, one of the major attractions of the fourteenth edition of the DSF on Saturday, January 24.

Dubai hotels are getting a boost with occupancy rates on the rise during the 14th Dubai Shopping Festival 2009.
The DSF annual event, which has become a tourism attraction, was launched on last January 14 and will end on February 15, has been bringing in both domestic and foreign visitors according to hoteliers.

This year's edition of the month-long Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is likely to see consumers spending rise to Dh10 billion and visitor numbers reach 3.2 million, a top official said.

 Acrobats steal the show on DSF opening night

A spectacular acrobatic show performed by the Chinese State Circus at the Dubai Festival City was one of the highlights of the opening day of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) on Thursday. More than 30 world-class acrobats and martial arts masters stretched the limits of human endurance.

Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) - the region's biggest shopping and entertainment event - begins today with various activities and events taking place in malls and other venues across the emirate.

The official opening of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 has been called off as an expression of solidarity with the people of Gaza. Other activities would go ahead from January 15 to February15.

Despite the global recession, visitor expectations and targeted expenditure at the month-long annual Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 is still pegged at the levels of 2008, when around 3.2 million people visited the emirate and spent about Dh10 billion, according to a top DSF executive.
