New boarding pass scanners have been introduced for E-gate users at the Dubai and Abu Dhabi international airports. The first phase of the boarding pass reading system is being implemented in the two emirates but it will later be extended to all airports across the UAE to enhance security.

ADAC welcomes Afghan national carrier - Ariana - to Al Ain International Posted on 28/02/2010
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) welcomed the arrival of Ariana Afghan Airlines, the national carrier of Afghanistan, to Al Ain International Airport with the weekly return service, from Kabul to Al Ain. Dubai Airports jumped two steps higher to become the fifth largest cargo handler following a 5.6 per cent growth in air freight in 2009.

Abu Dhabi's new air traffic control centre tower (ATC) is scheduled to begin operations by the middle of this year, a source close to the developments at the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) told Gulf News on Thursday.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) yesterday released its January 2010 traffic report for Abu Dhabi International Airport, which shows the total number of passengers travelling through the airport grew by 11.2% over the same month last year; correspondingly, aircraft movements increased by 13.3% and cargo saw a significant rebound, up 25.6% over the same period.

Dubai International started the New Year on a high note with more than 3.86 million passengers using the facility in January 2010.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has signed a landmark 10-year leasing deal with Al Jaber Aviation (AJA), which will see the new leading provider of VIP aviation based at Al Bateen Executive Airport, in the heart of the UAE capital.

The Supervision Committee for the Expansion of the Abu Dhabi International Airport has invited expression of interest (EOI) from general contractors in the prequalification for the Midfield Terminal Building construction by February 1.

Dubai International Airport continues double-digit growth in November Posted on 23/12/2009
Dubai International Airport, or DIA, continued double-digit growth for the sixth consecutive month as it recorded 12.6 per cent passenger traffic growth in November.
