Abu Dhabi all set for sculpture event Posted on 22/02/2010
Renowned international and regional sculptors will participate in the Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium (Adiss) starting here on Thursday.
The six-week event till April 7 will also see a renowned artist from the UAE taking part in the event at the Armed Forces Officers Club.

Guggenheim museum buys UAE artist's work Posted on 18/02/2010
A work by artist-photographer Tarek Al Ghoussein, Associate Professor of Design at the American University of Sharjah, has been bought by New York's Guggenheim museum for its permanent collection.
The piece, Untitled 5, is part of the D Series of 2008. Al Ghoussein studied art in New York in the early 1980s and his work has since been exhibited around the world.

Zayed University unveils students' art Posted on 10/01/2010
Zayed University in Dubai has recently revealed the creativity of its students through organising an art event named ‘Shifting Sands of Creativity'.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture. The event was an artistic gathering of professional Emirati artists such as Mattar Bin Lahej and Dr Hamad Al Falasi and introduced over 50 senior students' artworks.

Dubai a key platform for Middle East art Posted on 07/01/2010
The city is perceived as a key platform for the art market in the Middle East, according to a recent survey.
A total of 75 per cent of galleries surveyed agreed with the statement, and consider the Middle Eastern market as playing a significant role for the contemporary art industry.
The survey was conducted for arts fair Art Dubai 2010. More than 60 galleries will be exhibiting this year, with more than half from outside the region.

Three talented photographers were awarded at the annual Photography competition UAE IMAGES 2009 organized under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).

About 150 Islamic works of art are to arrive in Abu Dhabi from Turkey to be displayed in a special exhibition titled Islam: Faith and Worship starting on Wednesday.
