The services of Empost, the national courier company, are now available at main post offices across the UAE, Emirates Post Group (EPG) announced yesterday.
The selected main post offices offer the full range of Empost services through postal counters, including domestic and international courier services. To start with, Empost services are available at 11 post offices in the UAE, starting from August 29, 2010.

Emirates Post has issued two commemorative stamps to mark the opening of the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai. Issued in denominations of Dh1 and Dh5.50, the stamps are available at all UAE post offices. The stamps feature the UAE Pavilion, portraying the mesmerizing sand-dunes of the famous ‘Empty Quarter'. Emirates Post has launched a two-month campaign to highlight the advantages of having one's own private P.O. Boxes, instead of using company mail boxes for receiving their personal mail.
The core message of the campaign is that people who receive their mail through a company mail box could face the dangers of their mail being read by other people, and confidential information and bank and credit card information being open to office colleagues.

 Emirates Post opens new post office in Naif area, Dubai

Emirates Post yesterday opened a new post office in Naif, behind Al Maktoum Hospital, Dubai, to cater to the locality's growing demand for postal and non-postal services. The new post office was inaugurated by Mr. Salem Al Shaya, Assistant CEO, Emirates Post, accompanied by Ali Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director of 2nd Postal Zone and senior officials from Emirates Post.

 Postal service is celebrating 100 years

The UAE's postal service will have been in operation for 100 years on August 19 and the Emirates Philatelic Association and Emirates Post are celebrating with an exhibition of some of the rarest and oldest stamps collected by their members.
Thanks to his postage stamps, the youngest member of the Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) has seen famous artworks, followed sporting triumphs and relived political events at home and abroad that took place even before he was born.

 UAE wins gold at China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition

The Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) and Emirates Post had participated in the China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition held in Luoyang, China from 10-16 April 2009. More than 800 exhibitors from 76 countries participated in the show and more than 3000 frames were on display.

Emirates Post has opened its 100th Post Office at Arabian Center, the new shopping mall in Al Khawaneej, Dubai. The event coincides with the centenary year of postal services in the UAE.

Eight Arab postal corporations, led by Emirates Post, have signed an agreement to implement a regional, low-cost post-to-post money transfer system, which is backed by Universal Postal Union (UPU) IFS application and international financial network.
