H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, held a meeting here yesterday at Emirates Palace with Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt.
They discussed during the meeting ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and investment fields. The two officilas also exchanged views about the regional and international issues of common interest.

 UAE and Fiji establish diplomatic relations

New York - The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Fiji, yesterday established diplomatic relations by signing an official joint communique at Ambassadorial level.
The communique was signed by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Al-Jarman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations and H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Fiji to the United Nations.

 Tunisian Prime Minister discusses bilateral relations with UAE Minister of Health

Tunisia - The Tunisian Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ghannouchi, received here yesterday the visiting UAE Minister of Health H.E. Dr Hanif Hassan Ali. The meeting was attended by Public Health Minister Mondher Zenaidi, and Abdullah Ibrahim Ghanim Al-Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia, and the UAE accompanying delegation and number of senior officials in the two countries.

A prosperous and cooperative relationship is expanding between the UAE and the United States, according to a senior official.

Manama - HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces attended today the Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix which was held at the Bahrain international Circuit.

 British Minister praises Khalifa Fund's experience

U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates visited yesterday afternoon the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
In a statement made on this occasion Gates said: "It is a true honor to be invited to visit Sheikh Zayed's mausoleum and the mosque named in his honor. It is a beautiful site and a fitting tribute to the father of this nation-a man of great vision, tolerance, and judgment".
