Heritage Island in Dubai to open soon Posted on 07/02/2012
Heritage Island, a new tourist centre portraying aspects of life and traditions in Dubai, will open to visitors next week.
Situated in the Palm Jebel Ali Project at Dubai Waterfront, a Nakheel development, the Heritage Island is one of Dubai's newest heritage and tourist attractions. The new island extends more than one million square feet, overlooking EMEG's Ghantoot Reserve.

A host of camel-related activities began at Abu Dhabi's Swaihan racecourse yesterday.
The Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Camel Festival with highlights like races, beauty pageant, auction, poetry evenings and traditional events will last until February 17.

As part of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH)'s mission to safeguard, manage, and enhance national heritage, ADACH has constructed a multipurpose art storage facilities on the ground floor of the National Archive Building in Abu Dhabi. H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman said experts were finalising the work on Ajman heritage encyclopaedia. 'The idea is good and the working team is making tremendous efforts to bring it into life, 'Sheikh Ammar said while chairing the first session of the Ajman Executive Council for 2012.

Salukis race for Al Ain honours Posted on 07/12/2011
People will get the chance to see a collection of Salukis, a world prominent breed of Middle Eastern hunter dog, running in a competition next week as part of the Second International Festival of Falconry in Al Ain.

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) has announced that the traditional UAE Sadu has become the new addition to the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Keeping sword dancing alive in Fujairah Posted on 09/11/2011
Fujairah Troupes of sword dancers will compete to symbolically conquer a historical fort here in one of biggest heritage competitions to be held in the emirate.
The event, to start on Friday, is the second of its kind organised under the directive of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Irish vessel to be exchanged with six dhows Posted on 26/10/2011
A century-old Irish sailing boat has been loaded into a container to start a journey to the UAE as part of the Abu Dhabi leg of the Volvo Ocean Race.
In exchange, six traditional Arabian dhows will be sent to the Irish city of Galway for the finish of the race in July next year.
Organisers of the boat swap say they expect the traditional Galway hooker Nora Bheag (Little Nora) to reach Abu Dhabi about the first week of December.
