Buying and selling camels reached Dh350 million during the third Al Dhafra Festival which was organised at Zayed City in the Western Region by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
"I didn't expect the participation to be of such a large scale and momentum,' said Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region.

Al Dhafrah Festival that concluded yesterday proved to be a hit for the third year in a row with more visitors coming to learn about the UAE's culture and heritage.

Camel sales have reached more than Dh60 million in the first two days of the ongoing Al Dhafra Festival in Zayed City in the Western Region, an official said.
The ten days festival organized by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) includes multi activities that reflects UAE's heritage. The core activity of the Festival is a camel beauty contest known locally as "Camel Mazayen".

The Al Dhafrah Festival got off to an exciting start with 30 camels bettering 940 others to win top prizes for their owners.
