The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture '&' Heritage (ADACH) has unveiled its plans for two key projects in Al Ain, the Al Ain National Museum (AANM) and Hili Archaeological Park (HAP), which were both publicly announced by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council last week.

The emirate's cultural sector has received a boost as funding approvals for the Saadiyat Cultural District, which includes four museums and a performance centre, have been announced by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Tourism Development '&' Investment Company (TDIC) today announced the opening dates for the museums of the Saadiyat Cultural District: Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2015, Zayed National Museum in 2016 and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi in 2017.

 Tourism Development and Investment (TDIC) issues Statement on Guggenheim Abu Dhabi

Due to a review of its project procurement strategy, Tourism Development and Investment (TDIC), has recalled the concrete works tender of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum. "This work, which forms a part of the multiple work contracts that make up the project, will be retendered at a future date, and all renewed interest from contractors will be welcome", according to the statement issued by the company yesterday.

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) celebrated International Museum Day last week. The celebration involved the entry of a group of schools from Al Ain City in a competition organised by the Al Ain National Museum.
The competition required the preparation of replicas of historic buildings, castles and forts. These models reflected Emiratis' daily life many years ago, such as the life of Bedouins in the desert.

One billion Euros has been set aside as the Louvre Abu Dhabi's budget to be used throughout its 30 year contract, it was revealed during a discussion about the museum during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
