Twenty countries are vying for the right to represent Asia in the World Chess Team Championship at the Asian Nations Chess Cup 2016 at the Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan Hotel. Mohamed Shehab, the UAE No.1 won his opening 2013 Asian Snooker Championship first round match beating fancied Andy Lee of Hong Kong 4-2 at the Sheraton Karachi on Saturday night. Mohammed Al Joker made a great comeback to win the Dubai Snooker Club Open Championship, replacing Mohammed Shahab as UAE number one in the process. Abu Dhabi backgammon tournament attracts over 100 players

Over 100 players from all over the UAE are expected to take part in the 2nd Abu Dhabi Open backgammon championship to take place between November 27-30. The championship is organised by the Abu Dhabi Health & Fitness Club (ADHFC) under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and will be held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
