Abu Dhabi Environment Authority releases study on Bird Flu and its implication on UAE

A study released by the Abu Dhabi Environment Authority has warned against the possible danger of the Bird Flu virus finding its way into the UAE and the ability of the virus spreading to human beings. UAE bans imports of birds from Malaysia

The UAE has decided to ban the import of live birds and related products from Malaysia after the discovery of cases of bird flu in the Asian country. A resolution issued yesterday by Mattar Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and acting Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, said the ban was imposed after receiving information from the Office International de Epitoozities (OIE) or the World Organisation for Animal Health about the appearance of the disease in Malaysia.
