More than 3.5 million people are expected to spend around Dh11 billion at the 13th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), that guarantees 32 days of excitement from January 24 to February 24. I made a trip there last week and it was wonderful - little traffic on the Emirates Road, plenty of parking space and no heavy crowds inside. A fire fanned by strong winds damaged three pavilions in the Global Village yesterday morning before firefighters brought it under control. No one was injured.
