Sales and customer traffic at the smaller malls in Dubai continue to rise as Dubai Summer Surprises steps into its third week, reports from around the city confirm. The Dubai Summer Surprises is proving to be a tide that lifts all boats, with yet another major shopping mall reporting increases in business in the first week. At Deira City Centre, visitor traffic over the weekend went up by 30 per cent, and sales were higher than average. Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2002 posted an 18 per cent rise in visitor numbers crossing the 1.3 million mark, while total spending rose 19 per cent from Dh1.118 billion last year to Dh1. 30 billion.
