Carter to receive Zayed International Environment Prize tonight

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter will receive the Zayed International Prize for the Environment at a ceremony here tonight. UAE University wins Environment Award

The UAE University has been declared the best educational institution in environmental research in the GCC states. The first prize for research carries a cash amount of Sdr50,000. In a statement by Sheikh Jamil Al Hujailan, GCC Secretary General, said the UAE University won the title in a competition organised by the secretariat and was endorsed recently in a GCC meeting in Riyadh. UAE awarded full ISO membership

The UAE has been awarded full membership in the International Standards Organisation, ISO, becoming the only governmental accrediting body which can authorise companies issuing 9000 and 14000 certifications in the country.
