Foreign Minister receives Thai counterpart

Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received in Abu Dhabi yesterday Nitya Pibulsonggram, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand who is currently on a visit to the UAE. Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Pibulsonggram, saying that his visit to UAE would contribute in enhancing bilateral relations in economic, commercial, tourism and investment fields.
The Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs praised ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on a number of issues of mutual interest. At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Pibulsonggram signed an agreement for joint cooperation in different fields.
Afterwards, Sheikh Abdullah met with Ugo Intini, Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs who is visiting the country. Sheikh Abdullah reviewed with the Italian officials ties of friendship and cooperation and ways to boost them.
Also discussed were the latest regional developments and opportunities for comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East. Intini lauded the progress witnessed in the UAE under the wise leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
