Mohammed bin Zayed receives Singaporean Education Minister
Posted on07/05/2007 11:34:05

Enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Singapore in the area of education was the focus of discussion yesterday between General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Singapore's Minister of Education and Assistant Finance Minister and the accompanying delegation.

Welcoming the Singaporean delegation, Sheikh Mohammed expressed hope that the current visit would further boost the strong ties between the two countries. Sheikh Mohammed noted that Singapore offered a rich experience in training of managerial and teaching staff, academic accreditation, and a wide array of disciplines. He said development of the educational and training set up was a vital prerequisite for attaining sustainable human resource development.

The guests were briefed on the plans and projects to be implemented jointly between the Education Ministry and Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) to upgrade education output. The Singaporean delegation highlighted plans being undertaken with the Education Ministry and ADEC. These plans cover means of improving the quality of education, qualifying teachers, and teaching programmes. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
