UAE voices support to ME peace process

The UAE yesterday voiced its support for the international efforts to resuscitate peace process in the Middle East and the world at large. In a meeting in Abu Dhabi yesterday with the visiting US Vice President Dick Cheney, President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan said his country was keen to see the moribund peace process in the region revived, as provided for in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
President Khalifa was talking to Cheney in the presence of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister also attended the talks along with other sheikhs and senior officials.
As he welcomed Vice President Cheney, Sheikh Khalifa hailed the strong relations between the UAE and US. Ways to enhance bilateral relations in addition to the latest developments in the region were discussed. For his part, the US Vice President conveyed to Sheikh Khalifa the greetings and well-wishes of the US President George W. Bush. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
