UAE President holds talks with Kazakhstan counterpart

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with visiting Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, in the presence of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was held yesterday at the Al Rowdah Palace, the UAE President warmly welcomed his Kazakhstan counterpart and his entourage and wished them successful visit, which aimed at boosting relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. They reviewed bilateral ties and ways to expand the avenues of cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee, to further boost joint cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, investment and tourism.
The two leaders exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and other issues of mutual interest. President Nazarbayev expressed happiness for visiting the UAE and meeting with President Khalifa. He wished the bilateral ties between the two countries more growth and progress.
He cited the new town of Aktau, on the Caspian Sea, which was inaugurated recently, as one of the most significant joint economic project cultivated from the joint cooperation between the two countries. He urged UAE businessmen and private sector to expand the existing areas of investment and trade exchange for the mutual benefit of the two friendly countries. He reiterated his country's commitment to make the UAE one of its major trade partners in the region and the world.
President Nazarbayev praised the UAE for achieving great development by judiciously tapping its resources efficiently to match with various areas of development. He attributed that to the wise leadership of President Khalifa. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
