The Disney symphony orchestra hit a peak and children watched avidly as their favourite characters danced across the screen at the Dubai Creek Park yesterday night. "Dubai cares" receives Dh21m in donation from DIB Posted on 15/10/2007
Dubai Cares, the charity drive held during the Holy Month of Ramadan to help educate one million children in poor countries has received Dh21 million in donation from Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB). The announcement was made by Saad Abdul Razzaq, Group Chief Executive Officer of Group at a meeting here on Sunday with Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"Dubai Cares" International Fair and Walkathon to kick off next Friday Posted on 15/10/2007
"Dubai Cares", the campaign to help educate one million children in poor countries, is organizing an International Fair and Walkathon on Friday, 19th of October 2007 under the patronage of Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The two events will be held at the Nad Al Sheba race track in Dubai. The fair is scheduled from 2:00pm-8:00pm and the walkathon will begin at 5:00pm.

Dubai Cares charity a brilliant success - UN Posted on 13/10/2007
The mobilisation of more than US$220 million (about Dh810 million) through Dubai's charity initiative Dubai Cares has been described as a "brilliant success" by a spokesman for United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

RCA delivers President's Ramadan charity to Iraqis Posted on 11/10/2007
The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has continued providing food stuff items at cost Dh3.675 million to Iraqi people during the Holy Month of Ramadan upon instructions of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
About 100, 000 Iraqi families have benefited so far from the Ramadan meals in all Iraqi provinces.

Qanat Al Qasba readies a feast of entertainment Posted on 10/10/2007
The Eid celebrations at Qanat Al Qasba this year will include a spectacular display of fireworks on the three days of Eid. Traditional Arabic bands will also entertain the crowds with their performances daily at the Zaman Awal heritage area beginning at 7pm.

Children have emerged as one of the most avid supporters of the Dubai Cares campaign, which aims to help educate impoverished youngsters from around the world.
And to streamline and channel the enthusiasm, charity officials have issued guidelines for schoolchildren collecting cash for the initiative.

The total collected by Dubai Cares has topped the Dh800 million mark – which means millions more children will benefit from the charity drive. The figure is four times the amount, the six-week campaign had set out to raise. The original aim was to provide a million needy children with primary education – so now many more will be given schooling.

UAE's "Dubai Cares" receive Dh7 million in donations Posted on 05/10/2007
Seven million dirhams in donations for the Dubai Cares campaign were offered by top retailers, senior government and private sector officials, shopping mall owners and the media at the annual Burjuman Ramadan banquet hosted by UAE businessman Majed Saif Al Ghurair at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai.
